Chrysi Ammos: Beach Bar on Analipsi Beach Near Kalamata

On Analipsi beach, about 20 kilometers west of Kalamata, sits Chrysi Ammos (“Golden Sand”) — a beach bar right on the sand with deck chairs and shaded spots under the eucalyptus trees, run by the Sfondylis family.

A family business, not a newcomer

The name might suggest something new, but Chrysi Ammos has been run by George and Vassiliki Sfondylis for about thirty years — a fixture on this stretch of coast. First-time visitors may well feel they’ve stumbled on a fresh discovery: it’s kept fresh and well-maintained, with friendly service that reviews consistently praise (“staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable”).

Food and drinks on the beach

The menu is broad: from a chicken burger with a signature yellow sauce to squid, moussaka, meatballs, sandwiches, and pizza. Add cocktails, cold beer, ouzo with meze, and sorbet — a genuine all-in-one beach spot for a full day by the sea. Prices are budget-friendly, averaging €5–10 per person.
