For families with kids, the Kalamata Municipal Railway Park makes a surprisingly fun stop: an open-air museum full of old locomotives and carriages, right in the centre near the harbour.
Why kids love it
The large, real trains can be viewed up close, and some can even be climbed inside — exactly the kind of adventure that sparks the imagination of kids (and adults). There’s also a playground, plus a basketball and volleyball court for anyone who’d rather move around.
For the whole family
The park is more than just the trains: the old station building houses a cafe, and there’s plenty of shade to relax in while the kids play. A pleasant, free stop between two other activities.
